Hotel Guest on 20-Feb-2012:
Stains on cushions in rooms. Generally rooms and dining area felt like it could do with a good cleaning
Hotel Guest on 18-Feb-2012:

Hotel Guest on 18-Feb-2012:
When we arrived the restaurant was closed but we had the option of eating in the bar. This was not an enjoyable experience as there was a football match on the TV and the noise levels were, to say the least, high. Breakfast and accommodation were first class.
Hotel Guest on 17-Feb-2012:
I found the room was not cleaned very well on the first day none of the shopwe soaps were replaced or empty water glasses taken away.
Michael Veale on 13-Feb-2012:

Jeanette Doherty on 13-Feb-2012:
Enjoyed our stay at the Mespil Hotel. Staff very polite and helpful. Room and hotel areas clean. Only minus point was the sound proofing of the windows in our room facing the main road. Very loud with traffic. Maybe secondary glazing should be considered. Apart from the windows, great hotel and staff.
Hotel Guest on 12-Feb-2012:
Good city centre location, good nearby amenities, reasonable price for a Dublin city centre hotel, large warm bedroom.

The Mespil is my Hotel of choice when in Dublin as it suits me coming from the west & its proximity to Dublin centre. I always have a good to very good experience but my last visit was better than normal. I cmae out Subday morning to leave onyl to discover my car had a puncture. I went to reception just to seek advice as to where on a sunday I might get it sorted. Within minutes help was a t hand changin my tyre. It was lashing rain & was cold & miserable but the 2 guys from the hotle were cheerful, helpful & quick. I woudl highly reccommmend the Mespil. I would have before this happened & now even more so. Rooms are so comfortable, everythin is affordable & the staff are second to none.

Hotel Guest on 1-Feb-2012:
Stayed in Room 180, got no sleep for my 3 nights stay, as the traffic from the street behind never stops and there is a loose man hole lid that rattles every time a car drives over it beneath our window. Did request a quiet room on my reservation form, on pervious visits to your hotel were were generally allowed a room above your Residents Carpark
Hotel Guest on 1-Feb-2012:
the room was far too hot and I couldn't reduce the temperature. I had to spend the night with the window open. Besides from that, all was lovely.
Tony Hayes on 1-Feb-2012:

This was my second stay at the Mespil, and if anything it has improved. Great location, with easy access to centre of Dublin. Booking process excellent, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We didn't eat in the Hotel but there are plenty of places nearby to have meals. Would highly recommend.
Hotel Guest on 30-Jan-2012:

Good location, polite staff, food and drink prices much better than expected for the location. Residnets bar for late night drinks also very welcome to assist with time zone changes.
George X Zhang on 25-Jan-2012:
A very pleasant stay at the hotel where the service was very efficient and professional. The room is of generous size with all the necessary facilities. An excellent recommendation from UCD colleagues.

Mespil was excellent choice for our stay in Dublin, friendly staff, high standard of cleanliness and comfort, good value and very convenient location, easy walk to City.
Hotel Guest on 22-Jan-2012:
Perfect location for RDS (10 mins walk) and city centre ( 20 to St. Stephen's Green) Although on my own, had a large spacious room and fine bathroom. No noise at night which is commonplace in a lot of city hotels these days. Check-in and out was very efficient Only tiny fault, housekeeping forgot to replenish the shampoo/shower gel and with air travel these days most travellers don't bring these! Will definitely stay here again.

Hotel Guest on 16-Jan-2012:
Whilst not in the heart of Dublin city centre, the Mespil is still very well located in the south side. There is a taxi rank right outside the front door, and it is just a short walk away to Lower Baggot Street from where there are many bus route options to get around. The Aviva Stadium is just a short 10 - 15 minute walk away in case you are going to a game / concert there. Staff are very helpful and friendly, you feel very welcome here. Food is excellent quality and value, service also good. Room was most comfortable, we booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children, and we got a very spacious room with 1 single, 1 double, and 1 fold out 'double' sofa-bed that could have actually slept 2 kids. Room was only €79 per night excl breakfast which for a Sat night is excellent value. Parking is also free (albeit limited spaces) which is an added bonus. Hotel decor could do with a bit of a make-over, but in these tough times for hoteliers, I think the Mespil have got their basic principles of providing good standard accomodation, great food and friendly staff, and all at excellent value. Would have no problem staying there again !
Hotel Guest on 16-Jan-2012:
Myself and my husband had a really lovely stay. The room was very clean and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was really nice too. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The food in the bar was very of very high quality.
Leane McKinley on 13-Jan-2012:
I had a lovely stay in the hotel. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I ordered room service and within ten minutes my food arrived. My only bug bear was the noise coming from the room next door. There was an adjacent door in my room to the room next door and the occupant had the TV really loud!! Not the hotel's fault!
Hotel Guest on 9-Jan-2012:
Conveniently located, friendly & helpful staff, free parking & clean comfortable room - all good :-)
Hotel Guest on 8-Jan-2012:
There was hardly any water - this makes a huge difference in my hotel stays.
Paul Moran on 8-Jan-2012:

Michaela Hokenmaier on 8-Jan-2012:
We enjoyed our stay at the Mespil very much. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice and tidy room. Fine breakfast. We´ll sure stay at this hotel again if we come back to Dublin. Next time we might ask for a room which is located on the opposite part of the hotel, so we wouldn´t hear the lorry being unloaded at night.
Hotel Guest on 5-Jan-2012:

Hotel Guest on 21-Dec-2011:
Good value & friendly, efficient staff. My only small critisism is that no food is availbale after 9.30pm. As I work quite late this would be useful!
