Laura Archer on 25-Jul-2015:
We stayed at the Mespil twice on this trip--first, when we had just arrived, jet-lagged and exhausted, and then again at the end of our Connemara walking tour, one final day before our flight back. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, made sure we had everything we needed and helped us store luggage, arrage a large taxi for our group of five, print online tickets. Overall, a very positive experience. The rooms were clean and large, the tubs were amazing (especially on the way back, after 2 weeks of small electric showers!). The breakfast was good and ample. The location is close enough to the central city to be walkable (takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the heart of downtown), but it's far enough from the main streets to be nice and quiet.

The staff were welcoming and efficient at check-in and also departure. Unfortunately front office staff do not necessarily agree with my belief in having AC units installed in Irish hotels. My room was very nicely furnished and spacious however it was not cool enough temperature wise and the window only narrowly opens so it did not help cool my room making it impossible to have a good nights sleep. shame...

The hotel was lovely as was the room. The only problem I had was I had paid for an executive suite and I don't think that's what we stayed in as the room didn't match the description, as we expected a king size bed and didn't get this.

I stayed in a refurbished room which was beautifully decorated with modern furnishings and spacious layout. A comfortable bed, power shower in the morning and a good selection of options at breakfast. Centrally located in a leafy suburb...10 minute walk to town. Highly recommended.

Great location and friendly staff all over the hotel.Problem with the toilet seat and the coverings of the hand rail in the bath which were loose. Significant problem with the internet which kept dropping off which in this day and age seems very unusual-The provider neeeds to be spoken too. But would certainly come back and recommend the hotel.Denis McDermott

the only negative issue I had was the room was very cold and that when you closed the curtains there was loads of big holes in the curtain beside the tv.

Room very nice, breakfast good. My only complaints would be too much heat in room and coffee was not very good. Otherwise, I thought it was a very nice hotel and very clean.

I would like to commend and thank your housekeeping and reception staff on duty on 22 April - I mislaid a set of cufflinks, which I subsequently located in my car. The staff were diligent and courteous in helping me with the search. Thanks. Tom

We felt welcome as soon as we arrived at the hotel. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Also, the nice chilled atmosphere in the lobby and bar was perfect as well. Room was ideal for us too. Location was perfect as a taxi wasn't that expensive to the bars and nightclubs. We will definantly be back. Thank you

The hotel was fabulous, great location right at the centre of Dublin. Breakfast was tasty we all love it. This hotel offers family package for a family of 5 at a good value for money. Our room was spacious. Most of all, the staff were friendly, helpful, pleasant and polite. THANKS for the hospitality. We will definitely comeback to Dublin and stay again at this hotel. I will recommend you guys to all my friends and families. Keep up the good work!

Excellent, attentive staff. While there are areas of the hotel that could do with a bit of refreshing the extra lengths the staff went to more than made up for it.

Loved my stay here! I stayed for 5 nights around St. Patrick's day. Ask for the executive rooms--they are newly updated and very nice, for just a little bit more per night. The hotel terrace bar is nice for lunch/dinner if you don't feel like getting out--food is pretty good and it's cozy. Location wise, it's a bit of a walk into city center, but not that far, and there are lots of pubs and things to see along the way. I never felt the need to take a taxi, as I really do like to walk. A great hidden wine bar/restaurant gem around the corner from the hotel, on Baggot, is a place called Bloom Brasserie; also Searson's pub is near the hotel. Very good--busy (in a good way) on Friday nights.

Painting was going on while I was checking in, no reference made to this by reception staff . Strong smell of paint in room overnight. Breakfast was adequate at €9 for continental. Convenient to town , function in Ely place. No tissues / no laundry bag / insufficient toilet paper - literally one in room. Internet good

Hotel Guest on 9-Mar-2015:
The room was dated and could do with some small DIY here and there, which I believe is the next step as they were doing renovations on the other side of the floor we were staying on. Overall, it was very clean and we enjoyed a good nights sleep in the very comfortable bed. We were charged €109 for room only on a Sat night, which I felt was a slight bit over the top in its current condition, even for the location. €99 would of been more appropriate I think. However, I believe when the renovations are complete €109 will be too little! Good Luck with everything!

All good, comfortable room, welcoming staff. Breakfast good, except for that damn conveyor belt toaster which just does not work. We can put men on the moon, but a hotel toaster cannot make toast, just warm bread.

Reception team is really great, very polite, easy to work with, kind upgraded me (!!) and check out was very efficient. The new room (406) is super comfy but the water pressure isn't good and the fall of the tiles in the wet shower is wrong meaning its messy and additional work for housekeeping. I work as a director at CBRE across the road and we love your hotel :-))) A
