Loved my stay here! I stayed for 5 nights around St. Patrick's day. Ask for the executive rooms--they are newly updated and very nice, for just a little bit more per night. The hotel terrace bar is nice for lunch/dinner if you don't feel like getting out--food is pretty good and it's cozy. Location wise, it's a bit of a walk into city center, but not that far, and there are lots of pubs and things to see along the way. I never felt the need to take a taxi, as I really do like to walk. A great hidden wine bar/restaurant gem around the corner from the hotel, on Baggot, is a place called Bloom Brasserie; also Searson's pub is near the hotel. Very good--busy (in a good way) on Friday nights.

Painting was going on while I was checking in, no reference made to this by reception staff . Strong smell of paint in room overnight. Breakfast was adequate at €9 for continental. Convenient to town , function in Ely place. No tissues / no laundry bag / insufficient toilet paper - literally one in room. Internet good

The room was dated and could do with some small DIY here and there, which I believe is the next step as they were doing renovations on the other side of the floor we were staying on. Overall, it was very clean and we enjoyed a good nights sleep in the very comfortable bed. We were charged €109 for room only on a Sat night, which I felt was a slight bit over the top in its current condition, even for the location. €99 would of been more appropriate I think. However, I believe when the renovations are complete €109 will be too little! Good Luck with everything!

All good, comfortable room, welcoming staff. Breakfast good, except for that damn conveyor belt toaster which just does not work. We can put men on the moon, but a hotel toaster cannot make toast, just warm bread.

hotel room was fine as expected. price of E215 plusE12 per head is too expensive. would not regard this as value for money and would be reluctant to book in the future

Reception team is really great, very polite, easy to work with, kind upgraded me (!!) and check out was very efficient. The new room (406) is super comfy but the water pressure isn't good and the fall of the tiles in the wet shower is wrong meaning its messy and additional work for housekeeping. I work as a director at CBRE across the road and we love your hotel :-))) A

Lovely hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Food - breakfast and evening meal excellent. One small suggestion is to tune the heating down in the restaurant - we were all frequently so hot we had to go outside to cool down.

Staff members that I interacted with were extremely polite and helpful. Room was nice, with everything required by a traveler provided. Minor objection: I expected hotel's halls to look nicer, but that's not the important thing after all.

Lovely hotel friendly staff. Only issue is the level of heating even with the radiator in the room turned off and windows slightly open the room was like a sauna. Even the corridors were boiling.

Hotel is a little dated, but does the job. Over all happy with the stay. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. My only personal grip was the ironing facilities. The iron was poor.

I stayed in the 3rd floor and some works were in place; hearing workers at 6:00 am was not very relaxing. (not sure if they were from hotel o rnot, but there were workers at that time)

We regularly use the Mespil when in Dublin , once or twice a month. It fulfils our needs in terms of location , very close to the city and the service is always excellent. I find the staff attentive and understanding in terms of the travellers needs. I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.

This was a comfortable city hotel located a bus ride from the centre of the city. The taxi cost 7 euro and we were lucky enough to get free parking. i would recommend it as being friendly, clean and perfectly adequate for a city break - no frills attached! Anne from Cork

Great hotel, helpful staff, best location in town. Only problem is that the corporate rate has increased a lot recently so it is no longer feasible on a per diem. I only stay here now when I get a deal through the website. I think I've stayed between 30 and 40 nights in the last two years.

The lady at reception when we booked in was really nice& helpful. The room was fine but getting to it was, to say the least difficult, somewhat like an obstacle course. First we had to go to the first floor; then walk the length of the hotel then down a flight of stairs to reception level and another corridor, it was room 145 and it was as far from the front door as is possible. That fact alone would prevent me from returning to stay.

Overall a good impression - good service and clean room, but the heating was annoying this it only between 7:00 PM - 1:00 AM , 5:00 AM -10:00 AM. I had a cold and in the middle of the night I felt to the cold since the room heating stoped. Very nice that Mespil gave tea and coffee in room (water heater).

The locatio was convenient for the purposes of my visit. I asked for a quiet room but was provided with a room overlooking the road on which there was regular traffic all through the night which was quite noisy; also there was a draft coming in through the windows. Not sure if the gym in on the 2nd floor but there was a lot of movement in the room above me from 5am on which was disturbing. On a positive note the staff at reception were friendly.

The windows could be better - the noise of the traffic was loud all night and kept us awake. Temp of water in shower could be warmer.
