From Dun Laoghaire Ferry Port :
When exiting the carport take a left past the main ferry passenger terminal to a set of traffic lights. At these lights take a right, which will bring you onto Crofton Road and follow the signs for the city centre. Continue straight ahead on this road for approximately 15 minutes, where you will have a view of Dublin Bay on your right-hand side and a round Tower. Continue again on this road (Seapoint Avenue) until you reach a T-junction. At this junction take a left and continue to another set of traffic lights, you should now be facing the main duel carriage way. At these lights take a right and follow the signs for the city centre. Continue straight ahead on this dual carriageway for approximately 20 minutes through Merrion Road passing a large hospital (St.Vincent's) on your left hand side. Following the signs for Ballsbridge you will pass the RDS Hall on your left hand side. Continue straight ahead through various set of traffic lights and you will pass the American Embassy on the left hand side. As you approach the next set of traffic lights bear left onto the slip road before the lights. This will bring you onto Pembroke Road. Continue to the second set of traffic lights and take a left onto Mespil Road. The hotel is 50 metres up the road on the left hand side.
From Bray, Wicklow, Rosslare:
Follow signs for the N11 to Dublin city centre. Approaching the city you will pass through Donnybrook Village along Donnybrook Road and continue straight onto Morehampton Road. You will pass the AIB Bank on your left hand side and at the next junction there is a double set of traffic lights. At the second set of traffic lights you need to turn right onto Waterloo Road, (there is a right turning lane at this junction). Continue straight and take the next left onto Burlington Road. You will then come to a T-junction, where you must turn right. The Mespil Hotel is located on the right hand side at the top of this road. The car park is located behind the hotel on Burlington Road before you reach Mespil Road. The main entrance to the hotel is on Mespil Road.
From the Airport:
On leaving Dublin Airport follow signposts for N1/M1 motorway to the city centre. At the end of the motorway as you approach Drumcondra turn left onto Clonliffe Road and follow signposts for the East Link Tollbridge. At the junction with Tolka Quay Road take the 2nd exit off the roundabout and the Point Depot should be on your right hand side. When you reach the junction with the Tollbridge/North Wall Quay continue straight across the River Liffey, and you will then reach the Eastlink Bridge Tollbooths (Car approx. €1.45). Continue straight for 0.5 mile then take the 3rd exit at the roundabout. At the junction with R111 turn right at the traffic lights then turn left onto Londonbridge Road. Drive straight onto Haddington Road. Continue to a set of traffic lights - go straight across the intersection at Baggot Street Bridge and the Mespil Hotel is 50 metres on the left.
From Naas Road:
As you approach Dublin on the Naas Road, pass straight through Newlands Cross and the Redcow roundabout following signs for city centre. Once through the roundabout you need to follow signs for the Longmile Road. Keep on the left hand lane and you will see the junction for the Longmile Road, where you will cross over the Naas Road. Continue straight along the Longmile Road, Drimnagh Road and then Crumlin Road, passing Crumlin Hospital on the left hand side and then Sundrive Road junction. Cross over the Grand Canal at Dolphin's Barn Bridge and at the next set of traffic lights turn right on to South Circular Road. At the next set of lights turn right onto Donore Avenue. Immediately at the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Parnell Road, which runs parallel to the Grand Canal. Continue along the canal and the Mespil Hotel is located on the right hand side before you reach Baggot Street Bridge.

Dart
The nearest DART station to the Mespil Hotel is Grand Canal Dock. On leaving the station turn right under the dart bridge onto Grand Canal Street. Take the first left at the canal onto Percy Place. Proceed past Mount Street Bridge and Huband Bridge, then turn right onto Haddington Road. Continue to a set of traffic lights, go straight across the intersection at Baggot Street Bridge and the Mespil Hotel is 50 metres on the left.
Luas
The nearest LUAS station to the Mespil Hotel is at Charlemont. This is on the Luas Green Line. On leaving Charlemont station continue walking along Grand Canal Parade towards Leeson Street Bridge. Continue straight through junction and The Mespil Hotel is located on the right hand side of Mespil Road, just before Baggot Street Bridge.
Bus
From Dublin's Central Bus Station, Bus Aras follow signposts for O'Connell Street to get the No. 10 Bus. This bus service goes to Belfield/UCD and is a very regular service. Disembark at Baggot Street Hospital. Walk back to the junction at Baggot Street Bridge and cross the street. Walk up Mespil Road and the Mespil Hotel is located 50 metres on the left.
Aircoach:
This is a regular coach service from Dublin Airport to Dublin city centre.
There are two different routes you can take to the hotel.
We recommend you take the bus servicing City Centre/ Stillorgan / Sandyford / Lepardstown (Lepardstown Route). Let the driver know you are staying at the Mespil and they will let you know which stop. The stop you should get off at is Leeson Street Bridge (the stop before Burlington hotel). When you get of the bus, walk back to the canal and turn right. Follow the canal (the canal should be on your left hand side) and Mespil Hotel is located on the right hand side about 400metres (3-5 minute walk) from the bus stop.
Alternatively you can take the bus servicing Ballsbridge / Donnybrook. Let the driver know you are staying at the Mespil and they will let you know which stop. You have two options; (1) Take this service to The Schoolhouse Hotel and or (2) you can remain on the bus and disembark at the stop called Leeson Street Bridge (ie the last stop before the bridge). This is the shortest walk to the hotel, as you simply cross the road at Leeson Street Bridge and walk down Mespil Road, with the Grand Canal on your left hand side. Continue straight and the Mespil Hotel is located on the right hand side.
