At the Mespil Hotel, we are proud to adhere to important sustainability measures. As a team we are passionate about making greener choices, we continually strive to improve our environmental practices in a range of areas including single-use plastic, water management, and waste management.

Our aim is to implement best practice environmental management throughout the hotel and support “Green Business”.

 The Mespil Hotel has developed an Environmental Policy 2025 which helps us play our role in protecting and preserving the environment for future generations. 

2GoCups 

Partnering with 2GoCups we will be serving guests with a 2GoCup with their coffee or tea. Starting today we will no longer be providing disposable takeaway cups.  Simply deposit €2 for your 2GoCup, enjoy your guilt-free takeaway and then return your empty 2GoCup anytime for your €2 back.

This will help us all reduce waste and do a little bit more for the environment.

50 Shades Greener - 3 LeafMark

    We’re thrilled to announce that The Mespil Hotel has become the first organisation in Ireland to earn the prestigious ‘Three Leaves’ under the new Leaf Mark™ Sustainability Certification — a national initiative by Fifty Shades Greener that recognises businesses investing in sustainability education for their teams. 💚

The Mespil Hotel earned the top-tier Three Leaves recognition for its dedication to upskilling staff at all levels through Green Skills Levels 1 to 3, delivered by the sustainability education specialists at Fifty Shades Greener. “Sustainability transformation begins with education,” said Raquel Noboa, Founder of Fifty Shades Greener. “The Mespil Hotel has shown exceptional leadership by empowering their employees to understand, value, and implement sustainable practices every day.”

In October 2021 alongside our printing partner HP, we joined PrintReleaf.

Offsetting a total of 1.2M letter pages of paper consumption by reforesting 156 trees... and counting!
